The Gospel of Michiel (80'), Thanasis Kafetzis, Greece

An ambitious Dutch architect, starts a housing project in a rural community of Kenya. His goal is to
implement the principles of a book he writes for almost seven years now: community participation in the
building, use of local materials and absolutely no external financial help. His dream is, to involve the
community and promote self reliance. But his dream proves to be far away from the reality of the people
he wants to help. The film follows his experiment during a period of five months where almost everything
will go wrong.
