AEGEANDOCS 2015- THE OFFICIAL SELECTION
The AegeanDocs International Documentary Film Festival announces the selection of the 52 documentaries, which will participate in the official (competition) program of the AegeanDocs 2015 in Lesvos, Chios and the other islands of the Northern Aegean from 28 September to 4 October 2015.
The list represents 22 countries from Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, America and Africa. We are proud because we have received an impressive number of well qualified film proposals – 347 films from around the world – and the selection committee was in a difficult position to make the selection. After careful review and consideration, the AegeanDocs committee has selected 52 films for the official program.
The timetable of the Festival screenings will be announced later in August together with the list of guest films, retrospectives on famous directors, workshops, master classes, Q&A with the invited directors.
An additional list of 10 documentaries directed and produced by young and amateur filmmakers from Lesvos Island will be announced until middle of August.
All films will take part in the competition for the four AegeanDocs 2015 awards: Best History Documentary, Best Political Documentary, Best Social Documentary (2.000 euros each) and for the Special Award for Young Filmmaker (1.000).
