We own the crisis (66'), Rebekka Kaufmann, Germany
In WE OWN THE CRISIS (WT) a family from Athens fights for their existence. Mother Georgia works six days a week for little money, father Panagiotis doesn't find a job for month and 18 year old daughter Basiliki struggles with her school graduation. Seperately it seems they won't make it, but together as a family the three stand together. The apartment is their only center of life and place of retreat: Here the family cooks, celebrates with friends and searches for solutions. How tragic that even this place isn't safe anymore. During the finance crisis they became indebted and their apartment will soon be auctioned by the force of the Greek state like so many others. Nobody knows for how long the process of disappropriation can still be stopped by blockades and demonstrations.
