A Place in the Sun (75'), Julia Pinget, France

In the Camargue (South of France), at the end of a small road that seems to float between two waters, the beach of Piémanson at the edge of the world. Like a mirage, this band of moving sand welcomes thousands of people each summer, in all illegality. Assemblages of caravans have turned into small houses and compete ingenuously alongside canvas tents and motorhomes. The place takes on the appearance of an ephemeral village, populated by irreducible people ready to brave the discomfort and climatic uncertainties of a hostile place. Yet everyone seems to have found their place in the sun.
